University of Michigan Press Fund to Mission Agreement
University of Michigan Press Fund to Mission Agreement
The Big Ten Academic Alliance entered into a partnership with the University of Michigan Press to support their Fund to Mission Open Access Monograph Model that strengthens humanities and social sciences infrastructure and scholarship. The investment by the BTAA provides three years support for the "Transitional Collection" by helping to make 75% of the UM Press's annual scholarly front list open access by 2023. Members will receive unlimited multi-user, DRM-free access to all titles in the University of Michigan Press Ebook Collection. This includes perpetual access to the 2021, 2022, and 2023 collections (at least 80 books a year) and term access through the end of 2023 to the 1,700+ titles in the backlist.
The University of Michigan Press is a component of UM Library's Michigan Publishing, the primary academic publishing division of the University. With an emphasis on the humanities and social sciences content, the Press champions the Library's research and scholarly communication missions through global digital and print publishing. The Press leads in the development of digital scholarship and supports the dissemination of knowledge as widely and freely as possible.
