The Center for Library Initiatives 2010 Conference, "Cranking Up the Volume: New Strategies for Broadcasting University Scholarship" gets underway on Thursday, May 13 on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Registration is closed, but anyone can follow along with the 2010 CLI Conference on Twitter using the official hashtag #cli10. Go to Twitter Search and enter #cli10 (you do not need a twitter account to use this function). The CLI also has its own Twitter account, @ciccli, which will be broadcasting information about the conference.

The conference will highlight the results of the CIC libraries collective environmental scan for scholarly communication that it has engaged in over the past academic year. The purpose of the scan is to document the state of scholarly publishing and to gather institution-specific information about relevant departmental policies, faculty member activities, and on-campus scholarly publishing. The conference program will also build on the scan to address broader issues and emerging roles for libraries in the scholarly communication chain.
