The Big Ten Academic Alliance is excited to welcome the 2024-2025 Academic Leadership Program (ALP) Fellows, the 37th cohort of this prestigious initiative. These 78 Fellows join a distinguished community of over 2,000 alumni, many of whom have become college presidents, provosts, and deans, exemplifying excellence in academic leadership
Established in 1989, ALP provides faculty members and executive staff with professional development tailored to the demands of academic administration. Participants are nominated by their universities based on their demonstrated leadership and dedication to navigating the complexities of higher education.
ALP, part of the Big Ten Academic Alliance Leadership Institute, reflects the Alliance’s mission to cultivate leaders capable of addressing the challenges and opportunities of research universities. The program prepares participants to lead with vision and purpose in an ever-evolving educational landscape.
The 2024-2025 cohort convened for their first seminar on November 7-9 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The event focused on key topics in U.S. higher education, including strategies for leading in turbulent times, advancing global and inclusive excellence, and fostering higher education’s social impact. Fellows also engaged in meaningful dialogue with Wisconsin Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin and Provost Charles Isbell, Jr., who shared their perspectives on the future of academic leadership.
The Big Ten Academic Alliance celebrates the selection of the 2024-2025 Fellows and their commitment to advancing the mission of higher education through impactful leadership.
