The Omaha World-Herald reports today that UN-L has had a record-breaking year when it comes to Fulbright Scholar winners. Anita Middleton will become the university's ninth Fulbright Scholar for the academic year 2011-2012.
The World-Herald reports that, "The number compares well with the university's new counterparts in the Big Ten Conference and its academic arm, the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC)."
"According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, many of the CIC universities are national powerhouses when it comes to producing Fulbright students. Michigan led the nation in 2010-11 with 40, while six other CIC members were ranked among the top producers of U.S. Fulbright students."
