CIC Universities Awarded Global Innovation Initiative Grants

Five CIC universities are part of new multilateral university partnerships that have been created by the Global Innovation Initiative, a new program funded by the UK and U.S. governments to foster multilateral research collaborations with higher education institutions in Brazil, China, India, and Indonesia.

The CIC Welcomes Monsters University to Membership

Monsters University has become a member of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation, effective April 1, 2014. Founded in 1313, MU is a private, pan-educational university with over 12,000 undergraduates, located two hours from downtown Monstropolis.

CIC Faculty Win Nobel Prize in Economics

Eugene F. Fama, the Robert R. McCormick Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and Lars Peter Hansen, the David Rockefeller Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago, have been awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for their work in the empirical analysis of asset prices.

CIC Collaboration Awarded NSF-AGEP Transformation Funding

The National Science Foundation’s Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate program (AGEP) has granted Transformation awards to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for $1,071,760 (Award #: 1309028) and to Purdue University for $345,740 (Award #: 1309173) to support the Committee on Institutional Cooperation’s Professorial Advancement Initiative (PAI).
