Two CIC Identity Management projects, InCommon Silver and Federating Wireless, are getting national recognition at the Internet2 Fall Member Meeting taking place this week in Atlanta.
"InCommon Silver – Three Perspectives" will feature Jerry Mihaly (Penn State University), Christine Pruess (University of Iowa), Nicholas Roy (Iowa), Renee Shuey (Penn State) and Dennis Skovsted (University of Minnesota) in a panel discussion of the implementation of InCommon Silver, an advanced level of trust for identity providers, at the CIC universities. The discussion will be centered around the perspectives of the IT Professionals, Auditors and Technical Advisory Groups involved in this implementation.
"Security Incident Response for Federated Identity" is a discussion of how today’s process for security incident response will evolve, featuring CIC Identity Management group members Jim Basney (National Center for Supercomputing Applications), Keith Wessel (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Von Welch (independent consultant). This session will present work undertaken by the CIC Identity Management working group on analyzing security incident response workflows in the context of federated identity management, what the resulting issues are, and the group’s suggestion for a initial policy for federations to handle security incident response.
