The third annual Globalization and the Midwest Conference, "Financing the Midwest Energy Transition: Innovation and Infrastructure," will examine the financial challenges and opportunities posed by the global energy transition, with a focus on the Midwest. The conference, co-sponsored by the CIC, will be held Oct. 18 at The City Club of Cleveland.
Caroline Whitacre, Vice President for Research at Ohio State University, will present the session, "University Research and Technology Transfers" at the one-day event. It will bring together academics, practitioners, business leaders, government officials, policymakers, and the media from across the Midwest to stimulate discussion, convene thought leaders, and develop recommendations for how to best position the region in the era of globalization.
The conference is presented in cooperation with NorTech, JumpStart, the CIC, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, and the Global Midwest Alliance. Generous support for the conference has been provided by the United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development Agency, the Cleveland Foundation, and the Searle Funds at The Chicago Community Trust. It is organized with leadership from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
