Two senior-level administrators from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln visited the Champaign, Ill., offices of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation on June 30 to lay the groundwork for UNL's 2011 admission into the consortium.

Ellen Weissinger, Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and David Wilson, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs spent a day at the CIC offices meeting the staff and learning more about key initiatives and programs. The visit was featured on the front page of The (Champaign-Urbana) News-Gazette in its July 1 edition.

"We match any schools in CIC on several metrics, including clarity of mission, aggressiveness and a very well-defined sense of academic virtues," Senior Vice Chancellor Weissinger told The News-Gazette.

UNL will become a full-fledged member of the CIC on July 1, 2011, the same date it becomes a member of the Big Ten athletic conference.
